Stop the War march in central London
Duncan Borrowman, the Liberal Democrat Prospective Greater London Assembly Candidate for Bexley and Bromley and his daughters Jessica and Philippa were among thousands of Liberal Democrats from across the UK who took part in the Stop the War march in Central London on Saturday 15 February.
Mr Borrowman said: "I'm under no illusions about the brutal regime operated by Saddam Hussein in Iraq, but I'm not persuaded by the case for war that has been put by George W Bush and Tony Blair."
"The United Nations, not the United States, must be the body that gives legitimacy to any action against Iraq. Any decisions the UN takes must be based on adequate information. And the House of Commons - our elected representatives - must be allowed to vote on any decision by Tony Blair to send British troops to war."
"Without a second United Nations resolution based on authoritative fact from the weapons inspectorate, Liberal Democrats cannot and will not support a war."
"I was overwhelmed by the number and diversity of the people who took part in Saturday's protest - many on their first ever march. Tony Blair must start to listen."
