Local Orpington Liberal Democrat Councillors Chris Maines, Grace Goodlad and Jenny Powell have called a public meeting to discuss plans for the redevelopment of the town's Station Road Multi Storey Car Park. The plans are about to be considered by Bromley Council and involve demolishing the existing car park, and replacing it with a large TESCO, a new health centre, 64 new homes and replacement car parking for 900 vehicles.

The local LibDem councillors have organised a public meeting on Wednesday 28th January at 8pm in the Liberal Hall, 7 Station Road (opposite the car park).

Chris, Jenny and Grace would particularly like to hear local residents views on

  • The size and design of the proposed building
  • The impact on Orpington High Street
  • The new junction arrangements, and the effect this will have on local roads
  • The displaced car parking during the development

Full plans will be available at the meeting, or can be viewed at Orpington Library.

Chris Maines said 'I hope to see as many local residents there as possible.'

Residents who cannot make the meeting can let the local councillors know their views by emailing Chris at chris.maines@bromley.gov.uk
