Tesco have submitted revised plans for their proposed Orpington store. Chris Maines is to chair a public meeting to discuss the plans.
Local Liberal Democrat Councillor Chris Maines is to bring together local residents, Council officers, town planners and the architects of the proposed Tesco's development in Orpington. He will be chairing a public meeting at Orpington Methodist Church, 7.30pm on Thursday 15th April.
Tesco's have submitted amended plans, which they hope will be considered by Bromley Council's Development Control committee on 20th April. The proposal is to replace the multi-storey car park in Station Road, Orpington with a super-store, medical centre and a mixture of private and social housing units.
"I think it is essential that local residents' view are heard before the planning meeting takes place," says Cllr Chris Maines. "The impact on local traffic, impact on trade in the High Street as well upon the impact on individual homes near to the proposed site need to discussed fully prior to the Council taking a decision."
Copies of the plans can be viewed at : Planning Reception, Civic Centre Bromley Monday - Friday 8.30 am/5.00 pm or Orpington Library, Priory Gardens during normal opening hours (contact no. 01689 831551).
