The Hub, at 71 High Street, St Mary Cray is to be leased by Bromley Council from its landlords for three to four years, in order to allow Youth Service work to continue at the venue.

The decision was agreed on 28th March, at a meeting attended by Cllr. Martin Curry with the executive councillor responsible for Children & Young Persons.

The decision means, that plans by Prospects, (the former Youth service providers), to discontinue providing Youth Services there have been rejected.

Cllr. Martin Curry comments, "David, Brenda and myself have been keen to ensure that the good features of the Youth Service are retained and strengthened.

"The proposal by Prospects to discontinue the use of the Hub, in response to an appalling Ofsted report, made no sense. The Liberal Democrat team are glad that the service is going to be managed directly for the next few years, and look forward to seeing more leadership and vision in the provision of services than the last Inspection found."
