Lib Dem campaigner with Deputy Leader Vince Cable MP supporting Volunteer Week
Local Liberal Democrat Campaigner Ben Abbotts and Liberal Democrat Deputy Leader Vincent Cable MP have lent their backing to 'Volunteer Week'. Mr. Cable and Mr. Abbotts met Volunteers from the Girl Guide Association and Bromley Age Concern at the 'Volunteer Week' market stall in Bromley Town Centre.
Local Liberal Democrat Campaigner Ben Abbotts said:
"Volunteers do so much for our local community here in Bromley. We owe them all so much for their efforts. Groups such as the Girl Guides play such an important role in teaching young people vital life skills.
"Speaking to Bromley Age Concern it is obvious the hardship that local pensioners face. No one can forget Tony Blair's £200 Council Tax rebate that was cynically taken away as soon as the election was over. As Bromley's local MP one of my top priorities will be to fight for a fair deal for local pensioners."
Liberal Democrat Deputy Leader Vincent Cable MP said:
"It is fantastic to see such a strong local volunteer network here in Bromley. As Bromley's local MP Ben will be a powerful voice for the volunteer sector here in Bromley. Too often the work that volunteers do for the local community is overlooked. Volunteer week enables us all to celebrate their tremendous work."
