Liberal Democrat Leader Cllr David McBride has called for London Boroughs to work together to tackle child protection issues, warning that vulnerable children may be slipping through the net as families move around London.
Cllr McBride asked Bromley's Portfolio Holder for Children and Young People to press for a protocol at London Councils to ensure that case notes and school records are passed between boroughs within a specified time period.
"I am worried that as some families move around London, perhaps only stopping in boroughs and schools for a few months, records that would help protect their children, and others at risk, often take weeks, if not months, to arrive at new schools and boroughs. This is extremely worrying," said Cllr David McBride.
