As polling day in Shortlands approaches, more and more local residents are backing Anuja Prashar to be their next local councillor.
Everybody knows the by-election will not change who runs Bromley Council, there will still be a large Conservative majority.
It is an opportunity to put a local voice in the Council Chamber to fight against Conservative cuts to the local police team, school crossing patrols and Shortlands Library.
Anuja Prashar says: "In the present financial climate we all have to tighten our belts. Services cost money, and Bromley's Conservative Councillors can tighten their belts to help protect local services.
Councillors pay themselves over £1 million a year, some of this could easily be transferred to funding essential services for local residents.
"I want to take a strong message from the residents of Shortlands to Bromley Council, it isn't good enough that while local residents make sacrifices, councillors carry on seemingly oblivious."
