This list is work in progress, we're adding to it all the time as we try and give our new members as much information as we can about how they can help us.

Leafleting - there are several groups of leafleters around the borough who meet regularly (often on the way to a local pub!) but equally there are lots of members who volunteer to leaflet a few streets near to their own address. Leafleting is only one of the many ways we have of getting our message across, it does involve a lot of effort but many hands make light work - we estimate that you can deliver 100 leaflets in an hour on average.

Social Media - we are very active on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. It would help us if you would like and follow our pages to increase our reach. If you are active on social media our small group of contributors would love to get some ideas - either on an ad hoc basis (tweet or message us when you see something you think we should comment on) or by formally joining our social media group - finding something to post about every day is quite a task and being able to share with others would really help the load.

Website - we need some people to help us run and maintain our website. We're about to move to a new platform which means we'll all be newbies for a while.

Writing our Message - we need members to help us to write leaflets, direct mail, press releases, etc. If you're good with words please offer to help. We also need graphic designers to help get the look right, whether it's printed or online.

Press - we need members to help us with our contact with the press. We do send out regular press releases but it's difficult to stay up to date with all the issues without more help.

Eyes and Ears - we need all our members to be our eyes and ears around the borough. What are local residents talking about? What issues are mentioned on your local residents' associations' facebook pages? What problems do the parents at the local school complain about? Can you join a local community group? Please feed back on this to your local teams.

Database - we have a fairly sophisticated database of voters and members and it does need updating regularly - can you help?

Administration - we need volunteers to help us keep up to date with casework and do research for our campaign issues.

Policy Forums - we hold regular policy meetings to discuss forming our policy locally for our manifesto for the 2018 elections as well as contributing to the national debate on LibDem policies.

Go to Conference - there are two national conferences every year, we like to encourage all our members to attend, it's very informative and a great opportunity to hear the detail of some of the policies of the national party

Be a Candidate - would you consider standing for Council? Or standing as an MP? We won't launch you on a political career on the first day of your membership but there are processes we can start you on and conversations we can have with you to help you think about your options. You can read more here.
