Bromley Council has once again refused to fly the Pride Flag during the Pride Month of June. They also refuse to publicise any Pride events - or even acknowledge Pride month - on its website.

Many local councils and public buildings fly the Pride flag during Pride month - Bromley's own Parish Church is flying the flag this year - but Bromley Council has consistently refused to do this. Challenged about the decision at the meeting of Bromley Council on 24 April the Leader of the Council, Cllr Colin Smith, responded "We are a serious council with serious policies". Lib Dem Councillor Will Connolly asked the leader to reconsider. "What better way is there to be proud of Bromley than to celebrate Pride in Bromley ... showcase London Pride and Regional Pride events and work with our community groups representing minority groups and bring people together, this year and every year?"
