Liberal Democrats working hard in Parliament
The Liberal Democrats in Parliament have been actively working to hold the Conservative Government to account in recent weeks, with MPs teaming up to challenge the Government on a variety of issues. These include calling out broken promises on building 40 new hospitals; environmental protection from sewage dumped by water companies, and the Government's attempt to scrap important EU protections for workers, animals and the NHS.
LibDem MPs have also successfully had two Private Members' Bills moved into the House of Lords, where they are also scrutinising the Levelling Up and Regeneration Bill. Additionally, LibDem MPs have raised the issue of a bespoke visa route for those affected by the Turkey and Syria earthquake, and Christine Jardine MP has been appointed to the Scottish Affairs Committee.
